Tank is expressing his opinion more on the “R&B Is Dead” controversy and highlighting the need for more enduring hitmakers in the genre than Chris Brown or Usher.

The “R&B General” commented on Diddy’s points when approached by a TMZ cameraman on Friday (September 2) and continued the discussion on how R&B music has always had a place in mainstream music, but it hasn’t been as popular as Hip Hop.

We’re still not connected to the mainstream, so shout out to TMZ for providing us with this mainstream appearance and keeping the conversation going there. However, more of that is needed, Tank added.
“We need all of us, not just me, not just CB, not just Usher.
We require more.

When can a male R&B singer have a song like [Boyz II Men’s] “End of the Road” or [Jodeci’s] “Forever My Lady” at the top of the 100 charts?
When? It ought to be at this moment. So let’s give Puff some love.
