On Tuesday, Paris Jackson honored Michael Jackson’s 65th birthday through a post on social media.
The 25-year-old vocalist shared a video homage to her deceased father through her Instagram Story. The video segment featured scenes of Paris at the Las Colonias Park Amphitheater in Colorado, reminiscing about the King of Pop.
“In today’s recording,” relayed by People, Jackson conveyed, “It happens to be my dad’s birthday. In the past, when he was still with us, he used to strongly dislike any recognition of his birthday, the well-wishing, or any form of celebration.”
“He actually didn’t want us to be aware of his birthday’s date, probably because he wished to avoid any possibility of us organizing a party or anything similar,” she continued.
“Having said that, it seems that social media has become the contemporary way to express affection and fondness. If you don’t extend a ‘Happy Birthday’ message via social media, it apparently implies that you hold no love or care,” she appended.
